History

KNR Wireless was started in 2014 by Kirk Hammer, Nathan Dothager, and Rob Schottman, and the company’s name is made from the first initials of their first names.

KNR originally started to supply enterprise level internet to the customers of Dothager IT Consulting, which is owned by Nathan.  However, word spread about the service and great interest from residential customers began to push the service in more rural parts of Effingham County.

In 2016, KNR began deploying FCC licensed backhauls to form a gigabit core that connects many of the towers and towns in Effingham and Jasper Counties.

In 2018, KNR expanded their datacenter operations to host and collocate servers for Effingham area businesses.

In 2019, plans for a major deployment inside Effingham are underway.
